1. What Is executive Coaching?

Executive Coaching could be anything from building and sustaining leadership capacity to an executive with a leadership issue that needs remediation to a leader in transition who is moving into a new role.

 

2.What is the difference between Coaching and Mentoring?

Coaching is task oriented. The focus is on concrete issues, such as managing more effectively, speaking more articulately, and learning how to think strategically. This requires a content expert (coach) who is capable of teaching the coachee how to develop these skills.

 

Mentoring is relationship oriented. It seeks to provide a safe environment where the mentee shares whatever issues affect his or her professional and personal success. Although specific learning goals or competencies may be used as a basis for creating the relationship, its focus goes beyond these areas to include things, such as work/life balance, self-confidence, self-perception, and how the personal life influences the professional life.

The Coach helps the Coachee to self-reflect on his behaviours by being objective. This is done with an intention that the coachee begins analyzing the repercussions of his/her actions and starts critically analyzing his/her behaviour from various perspectives. All this while, the Coach remains totally non-judgmental, and ensures complete confidentiality.

 

6.Where do sessions normally take place?

Generally, coaching takes place at the workplace of the coachee, a quiet meeting room away from their usual office or team.

 

7.Can I talk to people you've already coached?
