Strengths Based Development - MIDAS

"Everyone is genius. But if one judges a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will spend its whole life believing that it is stupid." These words of wisdom are attributed to Albert Einstein whose low performance in school stands in contrast to the mastermind of physics for which he is famous.

 

This idea is the Strengths Concept - the goal is to focus on "what's right with people" than "what's wrong with people". The roots of using strengths in individual development can be found in Peter Drucker's publication "The Effective Executive", the book suggests that individuals and organizations should focus on building strengths before giving attention to weaknesses. He further states that effective individuals not only focus on his/ her strengths but also focus on his/ her team members' strengths as a building block for joint performance and deliver the best.

 

This notion of focusing on strength is well supported, researched and greatly publicized by Gallup organization. Marcus Buckingham and Dr. Donald Clifton were on a mission to push this strengths movement forward when they first wrote their book "Now, Discover your Strengths" in 2001

 

It's evident from research that each individual has greater potential for success in some areas, and the key to human development is building on who you already are i.e. on Strength and not who you are not.

 

MIDAS is a 1 day developmental intervention with 'Strengths' as its focal point.

 

MIDAS rests on the premise that 'every individual has a potential to grow and for growth to happen to its fullest one must focus on one's strengths and things that one is naturally good at'.

 

MIDAS uses Gallup® StrengthsFinder® 2.0 online assessment tool to discover individual's talents which then can be converted to strengths by making relevant and necessary investments.

  • Individual 34 talent themes report and personalized StrengthsFinder insight & action planning guide for signature theme report
  • Application of one's strengths in day to day life.
  • Action plan to leverage on one's talent themes with respect to his current job/ role/ position.
