One of India's leading companies in textiles and chemicals.

 

Organizational Context

The company is oriented towards planning long term Organizational Development Initiative with the focus on designing appropriate and effective Individual Development Plans for its Senior and Middle level managers.

 

As a part of this leadership development initiative, a 360 Degree Feedback Survey was conducted for 127 managers across various functions.

 

The objective of the study was to obtain information for the identified managers on their level of demonstration for specified competencies and personality traits. The survey data was to be used for preparing Individual Development Plan (IDP) for participants and provide input to the organization for planning and designing appropriate developmental initiatives for the managers.

 

NAMAN Intervention

The study was conducted in two phases.

 

Phase I (Exploration) included capturing competency requirements, preparing 360° feedback questionnaire, identifying the participants & their role-set members and, launching pilot survey for validation.

 

In Phase II (Administration and Report Preparation), the responses elicited for each participant were collated, analyzed and compiled in the form of an Individual Report. This report was the compilation of feedback about the participant on specified competencies, personality traits, certain strengths and weaknesses and an individual action plan format.

 

Benefits

Based on the 360° feedback report, the company helped managers develop their Individual Development Plan (IDP), planned & designed appropriate developmental initiatives and, provided inputs to managers through competency workshops.

 

This has benefited the organization in enhancing leadership competencies of the managers and aided in accelerating their career development.

 

Besides the developmental initiative, the company had initiated the use of 360° feedback tool for mid-level managers prior to assigning them with higher responsibilities.
